Background and Education
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist (LMFT) with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family
Therapy from Friends University in Wichita, KS and a Bachelor’s
Degree in Family Studies and Human Services from Kansas State
University. I have been working with children, teens,
adults, couples and families in a professional setting for
several years. I have experience in social services,
including working with foster children and teens and also youth
at-risk for being removed from their home. I am on the
Board of Directors for Wallace County Big Brothers/Big Sisters
and a member of the Wallace County Community Action Team.
Regularly attending trainings and
workshops on various topics pertaining to families and children,
I am also a member of the American Association of Marriage and
Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the Kansas Association of Marriage
and Family Therapy (KAMFT).
As a Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist (LMFT) I am uniquely trained to help people deal with
their relationships (or lack of) both in individual therapy and
in couples or family therapy. Relationships can bring out
the best and the worst in us and cause us heartbreak and
ecstasy. Our relationships within or outside of the
institution of marriage, intimate, distant, or from afar, effect
all other aspects of our lives. So too do our
relationships with other family members. They are too
important to treat lightly.
The types of
issues that I most frequently work with include:
Family Therapy:
parent/teen relations, blended-families, sexual abuse, chronic
illness, loss of a loved one, and life-stage transitions.
Couple Therapy:
marriage enhancement, pre-marital counseling, violence,
infidelity, and chronic illness.
Individual Therapy:
teens at risk, children with behavioral problems, sexual abuse,
grief, depression, anxiety, and spirituality.

address emotional, mental, nutritional/medical and
spiritual/energetic needs.
